Meet the Vision Architects
James P. Amend is senior pastor of Southside Church in Richland, Washington. James received the 2005 Kenneth L. Cober Award for leadership in Discipleship Education. He serves as President of the Inland Northwest Area of the ABC/Northwest Region. During the 90’s he taught at the National Headquarters of Promise Keepers. Promise Keepers Co-Founder Dr. David B. Wardell describes James as a “spiritual mentor with a high view of Scripture. Wherever he goes he sows seeds and then nourishes people as they grow more mature in the faith.” James has spoken and provided leadership in a number of cross-denominational and parachurch settings. He has been serving in ABC ministry for over 20 years in local, Regional, and National positions. He has been married for 22 years and has two teenage children.
Patricia G. Duckworth is the Associate Executive Minister for American Baptist Churches of the Northwest and a member of First Baptist Church of Great Falls, Montana, where her husband, John Duckworth, is senior pastor. Patti is a graduate of the University of Sioux Falls and Central Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to serving ABC/NW, Patti has taught English, religion, philosophy and ethics for several colleges and universities as an adjunct instructor. She has written for Judson Press, Leadership, and The Secret Place. John and Patti have two sons, Doug and James, both college students.
Scott M. Gibson is the Haddon W. Robinson Professor of Preaching and Ministry, Director of the Center for Preaching, and Director of the Th.M. Program in Preaching, at Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in South Hamilton, Massachusetts. Formerly president of American Baptist Evanglelicals (the forerunner to Cornerstone Church Network), Scott and his wife, Rhonda, live in Beverly, Massachusetts.
Vic Gordon serves as senior pastor of First Baptist Church, Huntington Beach-Fountain Valley, Calif. He and his wife, Sue, have four children. They all cater to the desires of their mini-dachshund, Mocha. Vic currently serves on the boards of Northern Seminary and Transformation Ministries, having also served on the American Baptist Churches of the USA General Board (2000-2006) and as vice-president of the Board of International Ministries (2004-2005). He is an adjunct associate professor at Fuller Theological Seminary. He served as vice president of ABE.
Conley Hughes serves as senior pastor of Concord Baptist Church of Boston. His greatest joy is sharing the Gospel message of hope with a wonderfully diverse group of people, and hopes his desire to serve others has contagious consequences.
Chuck Moore, senior pastor of Hillside Chapel Christian Missionary Alliance Church in Beavercreek, Ohio, served as President of Northern Semimary from 2001-2006. He holds an M.Div. from Bethel Seminary and D.Min. from Northern Seminary. Chuck and his wife Marilyn have a married daughter Melissa and twn sons, Joshua and Michael.
Ben Mott was born and raised in England. He received his Bachelor's from the University of Durham, England, and his Master's from the Claremont Graduate University, Calif. He began his career doing market research-based consulting on advertising and brand building, working primarily with Kraft Foods. He now works in ministry, serving as Vice President of Program and Marketing at the Green Lake Conference Center. His responsibilities include co-directing the Center for Excellence in Congregational Leadership (CECL) pastoral and church transformation program, creating Catalyst Conferences, and overseeing the marketing and communications for the conference center.
Bill Nicoson serves as the Executive Director of Cornerstone Church Network. Prior to his current position, Bill was National Coordinator for American Baptist Evangelicals, a renewal movement within American Baptist Churches USA. ABE included more than 500 American Baptist Churches seeking to bring spiritual renewal to ABCUSA. Before joining ABE, he was an associate pastor at Crossroads Church of Northglenn, Colo. Bill, an ordained Baptist minister, his wife of 32 years Janet and their three children make their home in Fountain Valley, Calif., where they attend the First Baptist Church of Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley.
Marco Romeiro is senior pastor of Lowell House of Prayer in Lowell, Mass. He received his theology degree at Sao Paulo Baptist Theological Faculty and was ordained in 1980. He came to the U.S. in 1992 and established five Brazilian chuches in the New England area while simultaneously leading the Lowell House of Prayer, which currently has more than 200 members. Marco is planting a new church in Orlando, Fla. He and his wife Silvana have two children, Rafael and Luciana.
Josimar Salum is the Director of Great Revival Ministries, an evangelistic, new church planting, revival and apostolic-prophetic ministry with the main vision to proclaim the repentance message of the Gospel. He is also the Executive Director of BMNET, Brazilian Ministers Network, located in Boston, Mass. He is CEO and President of Salum Contractors, which he operates as a marketplace ministry. He founded Abba Mission and Help Ministries, and helped coordinate The Call New England, a preyer movement that gathered 50,000 young people in Boston in 2001 for a 12-hour prayer meeting ten days after 9/11. He is a church planter and mentor for dozens of leaders in the U.S. and Brazil; in the last 15 years Josimar planted and organized directly seven churches. He, his wife Cristina and son Tiago live in Worcester, Mass.
Richard Sipe is senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Marshalltown, Iowa.
Kevin Siscoe currently serves as pastor of First Baptist Church, Kewanee, Ill. He is a graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary (Th.M.) and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (D.Min.). Kevin and his wife, Regina, have four children.
Kevin Slyh serves the First Baptist Church of Canton, Ohio, where he is in his 19th year of ministry. Kevin is married with two adult daughters, one of whom is married. He believes this to be an exciting time to be in ministry, particularly in working with a group of individuals with an unapologetic view of scripture. His real joy in life is serving Jesus and sharing the Good News of the Gospel.
Cindy White is currently serving as an associate pastor at Ashland Baptist Church in Toledo, Ohio. She received her BA in Biblical Studies from Ouachita Baptist University and her M.Div. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. She and her husband Rob have two amazing children, Ben and Abby. Previously, Cindy served on the board of ABE for eight years.
Meet the Rest of the Cornerstone Team
Mary Keenan recently joined the Cornerstone Network Church team as a financial consultant. Mary is a CPA and Registered Investment Advisor. She is a principal with Ronald Blue & Company and works primarily with churches and other non-profit organizations in the areas of financial reporting, auditing and consulting.
Mary worships at First Baptist Church of Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley, Calif., where she serves on the stewardship team and teaches classes on the biblical principles of money management. She resides in Huntington Beach with her husband Greg.
